Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou Episode 2

So, I finally had some time to continue where I’d left off 6 months ago and when I did, I finally remembered what it was that I loved so much about this anime that I finished the last season in just a couple of days. Apart from the sweetness the anime exudes, it’s the beautiful relationships (or any kinda relationship that this anime naturally turns into something you’d wanna be a part of.) that this anime does such a good job portraying it. And episode 2 was the best example of that. The whole thing between Sui and Gen was already sad enough to break my heart and then Gen just had to go and cry. That really really got me! I mean, I’m really not a very emotional person but when he burst out crying (I had this really really horrible urge to just walk inside my computer and hug him and tell him everything will be alright. It was even more painful to see them disappear in the end.

It’s kinda unfair to mess with my feelings so much ;_; but in the end, that’s why I love the anime so much.

P.S. I find that Actor guy extremely boring for some reason. -.-“

AKB48 Anime

The very idea sounds crazy to me, seriously. It’s like watching one of those American movies based on Barbie that is clearly a way to make extra bucks out of something that’s popular. And you thought it’s cuz the kids love it?

OK, well, that COULD be true but hey, Anime is different! Its different from American cartoon for a reason! Even AKB48 fans wouldn’t be dying to see an Anime version of it.

Gospel Version of Ghibli Songs!

That’s right! After the rock version, it’s time to slow down a beat and try out the good ol’ slow version, which is what these Gospel Singers tried to do, and I must say I’m a lot more impressed with this version (especially of my beloved Totoro theme) since I was quite mad at them ruining Teru no Uta in the rock version, which is one of my all time favorite song. I wished these singers has tried their hands at Teru no Uta (they might have, I’m not sure) but I guess it’s beautiful just the way it is. I can’t imagine the song being sung any other way. The singer has done an amazing job at bringing out the emotions that the song is supposed to express, and any other version would have ruined it.(I did like their totoro version though)

Anyway, moving on, though listening to the songs with western accent needs a little getting used to, it’s wonderfully sung, while maintaining the original tune to a great extent and not turning it extremely Gospel-ly.

Apparently, the album covers songs from these movies:

“Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind” (1984)

“Laputa: Castle in the Sky” (1986)

“My Neighbor Totoro” (1988)

“Kiki’s Delivery Service” (1989)

“Whisper of the Heart” (1995)

“Princess Mononoke” (1997)

“Spirited Away” (2001)

“Ponyo” (2008)

“From up on Poppy Hill” (2011).
